Please help with tag issues ?

I live in Florida , my grandfather has a tag not attached to any car , because he sold one of his cars , we live in same residence .. , can I transfer the tag to my name to not pay 360$ for a new tag ? anything else I can do ? the insurance will be different from my family (under my name) and the title will be under my name and same residence ... please help with ideas ...
