Can you get fined for walking out of court.?

In any court proceeding, a judge could hold you in contempt of court for "walking out." In a criminal case, if the defendant walks out, he or she would most likely be detained by court officers. In a civil case, if a plaintiff walks out, in addition to contempt of court, the case could be dismissed. If a defendant walks out, judgment could be entered against him or her. Contempt of court could result in being detained/jailed, or a fine. The amount of such fine would be dependent on the circumstances.
